BJJ rashguards are close-fitting tops worn for Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling, no-gi and MMA. They protect the skin from irritation and chafing, wick sweat away to keep you dry, and stay in place through every scramble. Short sleeve or long sleeve is mostly a matter of preference for training. For IBJJF competition, check the uniform rules before you buy: the rash guard must be black, white, or black and white, and show at least 10% of your rank colour. Wash at 30 °C inside out, air dry, no tumble dryer. Heat is what kills elastane.
