Crew neck, the collar that lasts

A well-built crew neck holds its shape for years. A V-neck stretches at the point and ends up gaping after a season, whatever the T-shirt cost. That is why the T-shirts people keep longest are almost always crew necks.

On a printed garment it matters twice over: the fabric is allowed to age, the collar should not give away the T-shirt’s age before everything else does.

Screen printing on jersey

The artwork is screen printed, meaning the ink goes into the knit layer by layer rather than sitting on the surface as a film, the way a transfer does.

On thin jersey you feel the difference from day one, and you see it after thirty or so washes: a transfer starts cracking and lifting at the edges, a screen print simply fades along with the fabric.

Conrad B. Hart, 1992

The character comes from Flashback, released in November 1992 on the Amiga, developed by the French studio Delphine Software under Paul Cuisset. An amnesiac agent wakes up on Titan and works his way back through his own memory.

The game entered the Guinness World Records as the best-selling French video game, and its rotoscoped animation is still cited thirty years on. The artwork is licensed, not loosely borrowed.

Size and care

Regular cut. Your usual size for a normal fit, one size up if you want it loose.

Wash at 30 °C inside out, air dry. No tumble dryer: on cotton, heat shrinks the garment and tires the ink. Never iron directly over the artwork.
